There are various origins of this phrase that consoles everyone in affliction and also makes disheartened to people who are happy. One of the origin of this phrase goes like this- King Solomon requested one of his minister to bring a magic ring that makes a happy person sad and a sad person happy. Thats an interesting wish isn't it? The minister searched for that and finally with the help of his grandfather came up with an idea to engrave the phrase "This Too Shall pass" on a gold ring.
